During the traditional Biikebrennen, winter is driven off at the North Sea and spring is greeted. Several large fires are lit along the coast, which inspire their visitors year after year. The festival takes place every year on the 21st of February. The "Biikebrennen" is an absolute highlight for anyone visiting Husum during this time!

Every year in March Husum turns into a purple sea of flowers due to the annual crocus bloom. The highlight is the Crocus Flower Festival, in which the traditional appointment of the crocus queen takes place on the balcony of the old town hall on the market square. On open Sunday, all generations meet in the city center to attend the colorful spring festival.
